MEET SUSAN

A Lifelong Passion for Healing and Wellness

My early career in a health food store and restaurant gave me my start in the healing arts. Holistic nutrition has been a passion of mine ever since, and I continue to study and learn to this day.

Over the years, I have studied many different modalities of bodywork, including Shiatsu, reflexology, deep tissue, prenatal massage, spa treatments, Reiki, and hot stone massage. I graduated from The International School of Shiatsu and am certified in Reiki at the Master level. I also hold a certificate in Energy Balancing from Lenard Toy.

My experience has included working with spas and chiropractors, serving as a doula, and teaching Shiatsu massage in Philadelphia.

In 2012, I moved to the Asheville area and continued working in spas and teaching massage. I have since begun teaching continuing education in Shiatsu, Reiki, and reflexology, as well as teaching basic massage modalities for the Mayland Community College Massage School in Burnsville.

I love being able to help people relieve stress and pain while uplifting their spirits. It is a privilege to support each person through their own journey toward greater relaxation, wellness, and balance.

Kind Words About Susan's Work

"I recently had the honor of attending Susan Brown's Shiatsu class. It was a wonderful learning experience. I find Susan to be patient, brilliant, kind-hearted, and extremely talented in all aspects of massage therapy as well as nutrition. Susan has many years of experience and demonstrates her abilities well. I definitely encourage anyone to continue their C.E.U. or educational classes under her supervision. You will be very happy and learn a tremendous amount of information in a short amount of time that will become extremely useful in your career."

"The class was such a lovely mix of refreshing old skills and learning new technique. I loved reading from classic texts, doing Qi Gong, and working with so many practitioners. I look forward to the next opportunity to get together. I'm already practicing what I learned this week with great results."

Amanda Witherspoon

Dr. Brett Cardonick

Cardonick Chiropractic

"Susan came to my aid when I was in labor, massaging me in all the right places to help reduce the pain and help me feel calmer and supported. She was with me through every contraction from the beginning of labor until the baby arrived, about 24 hours. She helped support me after the baby was born with some nursing tips and lessons in infant massage."
